Embedding employability to improve student experience – Lucia Vodanovic
Lucia Vodanovic (LCC Journalism) developed a specific project to improve the employability scores from the PTES and other course feedback; this took two forms – building further and embedding the employability offer and raising awareness of what was already on offer. A range of things were put in place: extra curricular sessions, a padlet resource hub, tutors foregrounding the skills taught within units, reviewing the guest sessions etc.
The first stage of the evaluation in itself was intended to raise awareness of all the employability aspects in of the course.
The results provide evidence that this comprehensive and overt approach was successful and the data now points to further refinements for the new year around student experience and confidence. Feedback from students was very good and PTES was extremely high. This reflects the way evaluation supports an iterative approach for continuous improvement.
